A Few Simple Tricks to Keep Your Health in Balance Easter Weekend
Ah, the long weekend! It's a time for relaxing, family gatherings with large meals and overindulgence. It's so easy to get ahead of ourselves and have too many chocolate Easter eggs or glasses of wine (or both!). Here's a few simple tips to counter all of the indulgent offerings your Easter long weekend may have in store for you.
Drink lots of water, especially upon waking in order to flush yesterday's toxins from your system. Be gentle on your digestive system by avoiding anything ice cold in the morning, opting instead for warm water with lemon or this subtle and refreshing caffeine-free herbal tea. This tea is also great before bed because it helps your body detox while you sleep.
2. Get moving.
Exercise for at least 30 minutes each day. Even going for a brisk walk is great, and has plenty of benefits like lowering stress levels, improved peace of mind, increased circulation and cardiovascular health. Another option is a power yoga session to stretch out that Easter gut!
3. Eat plenty of fibre.
Start your day with a fibre-full smoothie, or sub your lunch for a smoothie to save space if you know your dinner will be a calorie-rich meal. Arbonne's Daily Fibre Boost is an easy and subtle way to sneak more fibre into your day, so you can stay satiated longer and keep things moving, if you know what I mean. Add the Fibre Boost to your smoothie, bake it into a dessert or sprinkle it on your food.
Let your long weekend be about balance. Allow yourself some indulgence while also showing kindness to your body and your mind by following these three simple tips. Enjoy!
